Music & Art :: Sat 10/22 11am-2pm :: Marin Country Mart Farmer's Market

Nkechi Live! Music + Art

11am - 2pm Saturday, October 22nd 2011 at
Marin Country Mart Farmer's Market

http://www.marincountrymart.com

Please join me this Saturday October 22nd at Marin Country Mart (MCM) Farmer's Market where I'll be playing a few sets of original live music from 11am to 2pm with a few good friends and displaying some inspirations in art. I'm not quite calling myself a painter yet, but I'm pretty excited about what happens upon putting paintbrush to paper.  For now my theme is hearts.

Bring yourself and your family and tell your friends about it, too. The Marin Country Mart Farmer's Market happens every Saturday 9am-2pm rain or shine and it offers lots of activities for the whole family including story telling for kids at 10am.  Personally I'm looking forward to sampling the organic produce and allowing this open air experience to inspire new installations of music and art.

Be Blessed,
Nkechi

nkechi live! :: Have Guitar, Will Travel :: 7/11 & Other Experiences & Dates

Blessed Friends!

Have Guitar, Will Travel.  Below are some show dates for today 7/11 and then more dates in July, August, & September.  But first I'd like to share an experience.

A few days ago I experienced the most exquisite joy of placing a pair of shoes onto the feet of a homeless woman from the Tenderloin. She miraculously appeared as I was parking my car preparing to perform in Abigail, the Rock Opera.  She also needed food and I gave her what I had. Over the July 4th holiday I had the blessing of traveling and performing in a wonderful play with a few good actor's in San Antonio and then ended that week in visiting loved ones and family in LA.

As I write this e-mail, to this moment I still feel that the glow of this homeless woman's smile as I put one of the many shoes strewn about my car on her feet is the highlight of my year.   I pray for more opportunities to give away that which has been so graciously given to me.  The day to day business of my life sometimes does not make this easy, but living in San Francisco offers me so many opportunities. She like me lives in San Francisco. I am honored today to be able to support her community by playing music for an event in the Tenderloin.

For now the opportunities to give that come my way are to play music in support of a few good friends and their causes.  Here's a list of what I am up to today ( a lot) and over the next few months.  I appreciate all support, cheers, and blessings you muster my way. And most importantly I am so trememndously grateful for all opportunities to play music.  I am also so grateful to all of you who read and comment on these e-mails as it encourage me to continue to pursue my heights of my hearts love and delight in creativity.  Be Blessed in Your Day.

Blessed Friends!

Just a quick reminder that I will be playing music at 6pm this Thursday, May 20th at Dolores Park Cafe in support of SFWAR.org (San Francisco Women Against Rape).  It will be a cool evening with two other musical artists and 25% of everything you eat at the cafe will be donated directly to SFWAR.  http://www.sfwar.org/dine

For this event, I am working on a song called Stand Back (I Tell You No Means No) ..  Sounds intense, but its pretty light and and can't wait to try it out.  Here are details on this and future events ::

One World Children's Fund

Friends!

I am grateful for so many opportunities to perform in support of a few great causes.  Lately, I have been enjoying singing in a rock opera while learning to play the piano of all things!  Imagine that!  Just sending a quick note about tomorrow's show for One World Children's Fund and a heads up about a few others coming down the pike :-)

Thursday, May 13th ::  One World Children's Fund :: Crissy Field Center, SF

One World Children's Fund networks resources directly to grassroots organizations that serve disadvantaged children around the world. We recognize that local people know best how to resolve problems in their communities when they have access to resources to build a sustainable future for children and their families.  For INFO or to RSVP:: Email info @ owcf.org

I am especially grateful to be able to be a part of an organization helping to change the world.  I'll be singing one of my songs "One World" which was written before I met anyone at One World Children's Fund :-)  It of course is a timely blessing for this event.  I am honored for the opportunity to share this song in celebration of this worthy cause!

One World Children's Fund invites you to a fun and festive celebration to honor our extraordinary volunteers. Be inspired and energized and meet our Angel Award winners for 2010! Please spread the word and invite your friends who may enjoy learning about our mission-in-action to serve children and caregivers around the world. You'll hear stories from our Champions on how our grassroots partners are creating lasting solutions to empower their communities.  And yes, we all will feast on delicious pizzas, salad, wine and dessert.
